TRIP FOR LOVERS OF WILDLIFE AND PHOTOGRAPHY

Photographic safari in Tanzania with optional kite surfing

This is a  2 weeks trip for lovers of wildlife and photography . The Maasai Mara National Reserve is a photographer’s haven . We will embark on an expedition in May y for a 10 days trip . We will be able to witness the great migration of more than 1.5 million Wilderbeast, thousands of Zebras and Gazelles that cross to the Serengeti Park . with plenty of opportunities to watch interactions between predators and preys. Our small groups enjoy expert one on one tutoring with our professional wildlife photographers and safari guides ( Oryx Photo tour ). Here I have an itinerary that we could use as a link in case people wants to go deep on it.

Destinations:

  • Arusha, or Dar Es Salaam (Economic capital) to visit the northern national parks
  • Zanzibar, near coastal island, for kiteboarding

Best Season:

Summer is the dry season (May to July ). Its best for wind ( 15 to 20 knots) in Zanzibar and best also for visiting the parks because with no rain, animals concentrate to the same water spots, which maximize your chance to see them all.

TANZANIA ITINERARY

There are several of them in Tanzania. (check the map) in the North, the West and the South
Most famous being the Serengeti, quite large, which requires at least 4-day safari. This will be the park that we will visit

The country is vast thus travel distances are better achieved by flights. The road infrastructure out there makes your driving trip quite an adventure !

The Guide and 4×4 vehicle will be  included, As well as park entrance for instance

You will have network inside most of the parks. 3G though !

Guests are not allowed to come out of the car. But they have dedicated picnic areas with restrooms.

Guides communicate through radios all together to spot the best wildlife.

Main spots are on the East coast : Paje, with most of hotels , and Jambiani few miles south There is also a spot in the north of Zanzibar called Munguy.

Very long lagoon , shallow water, (protected from a reef 1 mile out.)

Wind: varies from side to onshore. Best time is May June to July with 18/20 knots average!

Nightlife: pretty active ! You wont get bored if going on your own. Or in couple : Basically every night almost, an hotel or restaurant runs a party with DJ. Notably the B4 . Can be noisy, or fun , depends of your expectations and where you stay !

17 kite schools all along the 2/3 miles of beach. But mostly locally run, small structures. Only 3 or 5 schools are larger structures run owned by Europeans , with Shop, and plenty of gear to rent.
They also organize downwinders during the season.
